Waiting for Snow

I drove to Telluride to get reference material for a winter painting. Although it was Nov 26, winter had not yet arrived. Walking through town, it seemed to be off-season and uncrowded.. Few tourists walked the street, people in cafe's were mellow, and there was just a feeling of unconcerned WAITING...waiting, of course, for snow. Amazingly, within only a few hours it was overcast, the temperatures dropped and by the time I returned home, the snow dumped for what amounted to a record snow winter!
